About the Driver
Taylor Ransom was born May 7th, 1991 in Roanoke, Va, where he still resides.  He graduated June 9, 2009 from William Byrd High School in Vinton, VA.  He started out playin soccer, which he played for about 8 years.  He soon realized that racing was the direction he wanted to head, and so he did.  He always loved watching his dad, Kevin Ransom the 1997 FCS Pure Stock Champion, race at Franklin Co. Speedway and Motor Mile Speedway for many years.

Taylor pretty much grew up around racing, but didn't really take interest in the sport until he was about 14.  He would always go with his dad to races and to raceshops every chance he got.  At first Taylor didn't know alot about racing, but as the years went by being around racecars and tracks he gained lots of knowledge and experience.

At the age of 16, Taylor got his first expericence in a racecar at Franklin Co. Speedway in 2007.  He ran the last two races in the Street Stock Division at FCS in 2007.  He started out in the street stock that he now races at Motor Mile Speedway.  He ran his first full racing season at Motor Mile Speedway in 2008 which landed him the Street Stock Rookie of the Year and a 7th place finish in the points.  He had three Top 5's and eight Top 10's.

After a season of racing Taylor has grown closer to the sport of stock car auto racing than ever before.  He is always working on his car with the help of his dad to get the car prepared for the next race.  He is ready to do anything to jump into a race car and get his very first win.  Racing is what is on his mind most of the time.  Racing to him is not just a hobby but its a passion, a passion to out do his competitors and come out on top.  He wishes to race for the rest of his life but only time will tell.

His car was yellow when he ran it at FCS at the end of 2007, but  Taylor has always liked the Dukes of Hazzard and the Gerenal Lee, so thats where the orange car with black and white numbers come from.  If your wondering why Taylor choose #27, then thats an easy question.  That was his dad's number when he won his championship in '97.

Taylor plans to race as long as he can. His passion to race will go far with him through out his racing career. He wants to move up threw the years, but as long as his on the track he will be happy. Look for Taylor on tracks near you.
